About The Host

I was born & raised on Long Island, New York to Portuguese immigrant parents and lived my childhood with my older brother and sister. After high school, I attended the University of South Florida located in Tampa, Florida. There I completed a four year Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am married to Ken and have 2 children. I taught elementary school for 22 years. I decided to utilize my other talents and became a published author of two children’s books. I decided to retire early from teaching and dabble in business entrepreneurship. I started a staging and re-design business where within three years I had established a strong reputation in the real estate industry working for realtors, property investors, and homeowners. It is around this time, that I stumbled across a 1905 Queen Anne Victorian house that had been on the market for over a year. The house called to me because of its character and craftsmanship. I instantaneously fell in love with the 6 bedroom house. As a result of that, I sold my staging business and I poured my heart and soul into this awesome property, which was already zoned for a bed & breakfast. And so, the Sparkman House Luxury Bed & Breakfast was born! I hope you come and experience my lovely bed and breakfast. You won’t be disappointed.
